Part work shirt, part frock coat — the Type 457 resists easy categorization and is better for it. Cut across the grain with no side seams and a shoulder seam borrowed from 18th century dress coat construction, it's a shirt with genuine historical logic behind every decision. Deep scooped tails, naturally puckered cotton seams, and dyed cotton-covered metal buttons finish the picture.
Tender's Cotton Pyjama cloth is woven in the USA from American cotton — the same material destined for brushed flannel, taken straight off the loom before finishing. Cut oversized from heavily starched cloth, the garment shrinks and softens during washing and dyeing, pulling the panels together into something that feels entirely its own.
Hadal Blue is achieved through a reactive overdye process engineered to reach the deepest color saturation possible — its name drawn from the hadal zone, the deepest and most unreachable trench of the ocean floor, and from Hades, the Greek underworld. Applied to the finished garment after sewing, the dye settles with subtle variations in tone and depth across different fabrics and seam constructions — making each piece quietly its own.
